ZTC awarded for a building in Sweden

On 6 March 2017 in Riga ZTC was awarded 2nd place in the nomination New Public Building at the Latvian Construction Industry Annual Award 2016 for the construction of a kindergarten in Sweden in the village of Bro, near Stockholm.

ZTC was a subcontractor in the project. The project was a 2 storey wooden panel building with construction area of 870 sq.m. The kindergarten is located in Bro village where most buildings have vertical plank siding. Therefore the kindergarten is a very good fit in the surrounding environment. Furthermore the kindergarten is designed to be accessible for persons with special needs.
The development of a technical project took two months. Also the production lasted two and a half months and the construction works were 4 months long. Since these works overlapped the kindergarten took only six months in total to finish.

About award

Firstly, the mission of the competition Latvian Construction Industry Annual Award 2016 is to promote innovative, high quality and aesthetic buildings and constructions that are built in Latvia or beyond, if Latvian builders, designers, producers etc. are involved.

Secondly, the goal of the competition is to elevate the prestige of construction, design and architecture in the public by promoting best practice examples in Latvia and beyond.
